Best Scrabble Play Ever
« on: October 24, 2008, 02:48:16 PM »
It must have been nearly 20 years ago.  I played “quizzers” across two triple word scores.  It was an 8-letter word; the “e” was provided; placed perfectly by my opponent between two triple word scores.  The Z was on a double letter and the second Z was a blank.  This made the Z worth 20; add the Q and you get 30, plus five ones and a blank makes 35.  This is multiplied by 9 since the word covers two triple word scores.  35 X 9 = 315.  Using all tiles gets another 50 points.  315 + 50 = 365.

Anyone ever gotten higher in one play?

I thought there was only one "Z" in the standard scrabble game.  I call shenanigans!

Ah, i reread and saw you used a blank.

I would avoid playing Boggle with Tom.

It would be like playing it with Pootie Tang.

I've seen it here on BBC America years ago, also on various PBS channels.  Peersonally one of my all time favorites, who could forget Rimmer World...   :rofl

It used to come on PBS here in the mid to late 90's, but after that it was dropped after the very last series (which to me wasnt funny and sucked completely)

Dont know what happened after rimmer(?) tried to get off the doomed ship in the very last ep of season 7.

Was there supposed to be a season 8 or was 7 the total end?

Also I didnt like how everything was remastered. I liked the old unremastered version better. It was more MST3K-ish  :D
