I had to watch it a couple of times to make sure it wasn't cgi. (I don't think it is, but it might be....very 'fortuitous' camera framing...)

Looks like the spring breaks right as he hits it.

Umm, what made you think it was real the first couple times you watched it?  I watched it once and was obviously fake.
