Something I just made in 5mins
« on: November 12, 2008, 11:18:42 AM »

Just messing around. Trying to make a new signature. Thoughts? ( I'm a novice graphics person but I'm learning! )

The only problem I had with it is the jagged edges of the plane and shield. However I myself would not know how to work around that one.

We,, the jagged shield is a result of my poor eraser skills  :(

And the jagged wing is something I've been trying to smooth out for the past 15minutes .

Try using the lasso tool to select the shield, then invert the selection...  After doing that, you can use the erasure tool with total abandon without cutting into the area you want to keep.  The lasso tool takes a little practice, but once you get the hang of it a whole new world of possibilities opens up to you.

I did. But it left a undershadow image under the shield which i tried to erase. And thanks for the tip Dave  :salute.

If cropping is what you would like to be able to do with GIMP or PS try using the pentool.....very easy to use.

If you could add your "number" on the plane that would be sweet.  Also smooth the wing tip in the foreground, looks as if part of the plane was erased.
