Buffs are better......ya think?

OK, 1.02 has been out for a while now.....and I gotta say I think survivability in those buffs is much better.

It's no longer ping, zoom to tower any more.  :-)

Swoop,  They are MUCH better now.

I actually get concerned in a one on one fight with a bomber now.  I used to see a bomber as a drone target (the bomber had little chance of survival) because I knew even if he hit me with the guns the bullets would just bounce off.

Yeah, buffs are much better.  I don't mind flying them now, and rarely go above 20k.  So far, I've found that there are quite a few fighter pilots who are still using pre-1.02 tactics against buffs.

With the hardened wings of the Buffs now, I've found that fire concentrated on the control surfaces seems produce the greatest effect in the post 1.02 damage models.  Past tactics of concentrated fire around the inner wings results in more engine/fuel tank damage than structural damage in my attacks.  Its more important than ever to stay in the weakest zones of fire when attacking the bombers.

Definately tougher, not that it helps me, just takes 'em a few more bullets to shoot me down.

The flaps creating lift is really a help too, but it still is tough to get off before running out of runway with 100% load.

I know, it only takes 50% to go and return but I want to be able to take off with full everything like the big boys did, gotta practice heavy for in case that other sim ever gets finished.

Those ordnance bastards need  a whippin' tho, sending us all those 100 pounders disguised as 1,000 pounders.

Still havin' fun though.

This upgrade is running hand in hand with my learning curve so I'm not sure if it's that the buffs are better or I'm just learning what not to do    I do see that I am having to learn how to land now, so I'm coming home more often.  I too usually top out at 20-25K (not out of some sense of being fair, but just cause I get to fidgety climbing that long.)

I do not like the buffs now. They again OVER competitive against fighters in 1vs1 duels, even if novice is in a buff and ace in a fighter. That makes that surrealistic picture back, you see 3 or 4 fighters below you, but only 1, (less expirience), try to grab after you. Other just do not want to risk. I do not think that situation when fighters avoid buffs is normal. In 1vs1 duel buff shall has very low chances.
