Film Viewer request: god cam
« on: May 28, 2001, 12:38:00 AM »
I'd like to have the God Mode Cam in the film viewer since we can't rotate the camera on a seperate plane. Your aircraft is always in center focus, no matter what camera you choose. Either that or add a second dimension to the pan through the F8 key so we can take screen shots from off-angles.

For example: Your aircraft is always centered in the external views. If you hit F8 you'd be able to pan the camera independantly from your aircraft's camera. Think of it as a camera on a boom; you can rotate the boom seperately from the camera 360º. If your aircraft was the base of the boom, you could pan the camera on the end of that boom in any direction; completely seperate from the direction the boom is facing. Complicated I know, but there have been a few shots I couldn't take because the angle sucked.

Huh? I'm talking about the film viewer. Why would the server have to dish out anything beyond the normal info? I'm just asking for the ability to spin the camera in place. Say you're looking at a film, external view, 10 o'clock position on your aircraft. What if you wanted to just spin the camera in place to look at something else, instead of always having your aircraft in the center of the screen? Hence this request. With the God Mode Cam in the Film Viewer you culd take off-angle screen shots, where your aircraft is not centered in the screen.

Hi!
Sorry for getting little off topic, but is there a way to convert films to mpg's or in other format?

Hblair used the video out port on his vid card to make his MPEG films. That's the only way I know how to do them, unless someone else found a way to convert the films and didn't spill the beans.

Has anybody had any luck trimming the length of an AH film using a hex viewer/editor? I haven't used one since I quit using my Amiga 500
