Using the "T" key might be an Issue....
« on: February 15, 2000, 05:29:00 AM »
Soon (Not a statement, nor a question, just logic...) there is going to be In Game Voice Comms, as I heard on this BB that HTC is working with the RogerWilco team...

I also noticed that the "Default key" is the "T" key. This might pose a little problem : Probably 30% of us don't have a Mike and will thus continue to use the Chat Buffer as the only mean of comms...now, if someone with Voice Comms on, will answer them, using the "T" key while typing (ie : Turning lefT, on your Tail...etc...) we're going to suffer from unwanted "emmissions".

This might not be an issue if you are only 1/3 on a channel, but Imagine 50 Poeple on the same channel pressing the "T" key...

Speaking of experience here, because i used the T key in the beginning in Roger Wilco, and it is quite bogging for the others....I changed to another unassigned key (` The one under Escape Key...).

You might want to change that in the Default Keyset....

Hehe.  Perhaps it's being a trifle premature to submit bug reports on vaporware.
That said, my guess is that voice comms won't  be "always on", on that those without mikes won't be broadcast nulls.  I also don't think that HTC will default to the T key.

Think, Saintaw. Does your engine quit whenever you use the letter 'e' in the radio...?

CC, they would have to disable it when Using Chat Buffer.

But Using Plain Roger Wilco with T, gave us lots of "Mike Clicks" during chat typo...that's why I wanted to bring this up

Not sure this will be a problem because when you use the "radio" you always hit / before sending any type message.  Or otherwise whenever you typed a radio text message every time you hit P your wep would come on; a g and your gear would lower/raise, etc, etc..

Right now, in my version of Roger Wilco, F12 is the talk button.......by default.  You have the option when using it to select any key or use voice actuated control.  Certainly, F12 is free right now and should be a good key to select.
I dont use the "voice actuated " option because my mike is built into the monitor.  I have to mute the speakers before I talk.  A minor inconvenience, but only temporary.

I would advise you to get a Headset, as :
A-Your wife can go sleep without nagging you because of the noise...
B-Sound quality is much better...

Use ENTR ENTR ENTR    No, seriously, I use the DELETE key as my vox activate on RW.  Thoe the tilde "~" key works I suppose.  Besides, how often is the DEL key used in game play of this type?
