new skin bug
« on: November 04, 2008, 10:11:58 PM »
The alpha layer bitmap on my new 68FS P-40E skin wasn't applied to the skin. Perhaps it was left out by accident with the skins re-downloading or something.

Looks like we missed this error in your submission.  You'll have to re-submit it to correct it.  There is something wrong with the way you did the alpha.  The easiest thing to do is to give that area the RGB values of 255, 0, 255.  Double check this to make sure it's working.

What about the ****_a.bmp black and white alpha layer? As I recall this was added to all skins, and replaced the previous method, or something like that.

It definitely works offline that way, and that's how it does the stars and roundels on a few skins.

Edit: Matter of fact that's how several other notable P-40E skinners did it in their examples I looked at for ideas.
