Once Stang taught me the correct merge for Dedalos I have had much better luck in my fights.

Get in something faster than him, avoid the HO, then run him down when he flees?

I think you are confusing a HO with some one that likes to HO. Wave a dollar in the air and see how fast stank (<-- right spelling) can move
