Why can't you control the aircraft when in the bombsight? I believe they did in the actual aircraft.

You do control the aircraft while in the bombsite.

Use the rudder pedals for left right.  No up/down control as far as I know.  Using left/right on the stick will give more of a movement.

Hmmmm....strange, my rudder pedals work in the aircraft but not the bombsight.

While being in bombsight, stick left/right controls the plane
While being in any gunners position, rudder does it.

Use your trim keys.  J and L for Left and Right rudder will turn you.  Never tried any of the others so I don't know if you have elevator or aileron trim.

Thanks for the help, I found the problem. I was going into autopilot in cockpit view before switching to bombsight view. You go to autopilot in bombsight view, after setting speed the stick moves the aircraft port and starboard. The help file is kind of limited.

There are a few people out there that actually use the B-17 as a bomber, not as an ackstar  ;)
