Flying Leather Necks
« on: November 08, 2008, 12:55:35 PM »
Ok, im stuck in a hotel room for the the day, and the movie "Flying Leather Necks" staring "John Wanye" is playing on Turner Classic movies. I had seen this movie years ago as im sure most of us have, but i thought what the heck, ill watch it again. Toward the end of the movie while going after a japanese aircraft, The guns
in Mr Wanyes F4u become Jammed and he RAMS the japanese aircraft. My first thought truly was "you ace pilot" then it dawned on me .... I just called John Wayne a ace pilot! HA! this game is funny.

Apparently, one in five people in the world are Chinese. And there are five people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mum or my dad. Or my older brother, Colin. Or my younger brother, Ho-Chan-Chu. But I think it's Colin. - Tim Vine.

Well that was a cool read. Thanks Buzzard sir! I wont go so far to call mr Klingman a "ace pilot" but
i stand by my statement that "John Wanye is a ace pilot" only because it made me laugh after i said it.

<S> Mr Klingman, a better man than I.

That's funny.  Reminiscent of the thread where people bring AH lingo into RL.  Told my wife to Check 6 on a car that was coming up fast behind us earlier today.  Got the look from you know where.   :D

Did you hear the comments by Ben Mankiewicz after the film? Howard Hughes hired John Wayne's favorite writer to rewrite the original script so Wayne would play the role. That script was further rewritten and they wound up having 3 versions of the script floating around the set. They finally had to rewrite it a 4th time to meld the best parts of each into the final version.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

Watched some of it. Got to love those Helldivers subbing for Avengers. Never mind the F6Fs that are supposed to be the F4Fs J Wayne and his buddies were flying.

Reminded me of the HC/MC.
