If you can get to our WEB page, which obviously you can, then it is probably a firewall issue.

google a free program called pingplotter. install it and have it ping the one of the arenas (addresses below)

Early, Mid, Late War Orange Main Arena Server Address: 206.16.60.39
Axis vs Allies, Training, Dueling, Late War Blue: 206.16.60.41
Special Events: 206.16.60.38

If it can ping it your firewall is open, and your connection is fine. If it doesn't, it will show you where it fails.

I am sorry, but if you can get to our WEB page, and you can, but the game cannot get passed the login, it is a firewall problem.  No need to run a Ping Plot.

If your firewall is Norton, then remove Norton from the computer and see if that fixes it.  If you are behind a router, the router probably has the firewall built into it and needs to be set to allow the game through it.

There is no doubt that this is a firewall issue.  The login server and the WEB server are on the same computer.  The only difference is the port being used.

I will say again.  The WEB page and the game authentication software all run on the same server.  The only difference is the port number used.

If you are getting a "host connection lost" message when trying to login, not when trying to connect to an arena, just when pressing OK to get logged in, then something is blocking the port we are using for the authentication mechanism.

The firewall does not have to be on your computer.  It can be in a router, it can be at whomever is hosting your Internet connection for that matter.

There is no reason to get vile about this.  The above explanation is the only explanation available when you cannot get passed the game login, but can get to our home page with your browser.

The above answer is the only one available, given the information you have provided.

I have had the same problem logging into any arena after latewar,training,etc..etc..My ISP closes down those ports as they say that they get alot of crud coming from those ports. So they shut mine down between the hours of 8am.to 5pm..Tonight for some reason they seem to have it on as I have not been able to log into these areans all night..Had to spend my time in purple..IT SUCKS!!

But check with your isp first, they could be the ones blocking it...
