In-Game Sound Adjustments

I wish there was a test button on the in-game sound volume adjustments.  That way you could hit 'test' after setting the volume and hear how loud that sound will be.

Personally, I think the ability to individually set volume for different effects should be removed. How is it NOT gamey to be able to turn your engine volume way down to hear things around you that you otherwise couldn't (nearby GVs, other aircraft, etc)?
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I see your point but I totally disagree Saxman.

I've already lost 50% of my hearing listening to big motors running for too long. (too many hours on tractors farming)

Why would I want to continue to damage what I have left?

Since the capability is there for all  it is not an unfair advantage, its a game feature that you can choose to take advantage of or not.

Now it can probably be hotly debated if AH should allow anyone to hear a second engine behind them outside of 200 yards. But since this is what HTC decided its cool with me.

Link all engine sounds and all track sounds, leave anything else as is  :aok

There's a lot of other aspects of the game that aren't bugs (IE, the oft-mentioned Lancstuka) that you can call a feature and anyone can take advantage of, but it doesn't make them any less gamey. Why should audio be any different?

Lock all audio into one master control. You can adjust the master, but everything else is automatically set off that and can't be individually turned off or on.

Either that, or if you dial down your own engine noise it should affect ALL engines, including those of other planes around you to eliminate any such advantage.
