Can this be right???
« on: July 15, 2000, 06:40:00 PM »
Hi All,
The M3 carries 10 troops, OK I can live with that. The C47 carries 10 troops What!!!

If I am wrong then fine but I cannot believe that a 90 odd foot wingspan twin engined aircraft can only carry the same payload as a WWII utility vehicle.

I believe the C47 carried a variety of stores including 25 pounder guns and in some cases even Mules (No Sheep though as far as I am aware). If it left all these at home it could apparently accomodate 22 fully equipped troops. Is there some vast eternal plan I am unaware of stopping the C47 in AH from carrying it's rightful load? HTC? Anyone?

Being a big time goon driver, I confronted HT in the arena once about the true vs modelled capacity of the goon.  He says he has things set where he wants them, and it's much more of a gameplay issue than anything.  If it got 22 troop capacity, I'm sure the bar woud be raised on how many troops it takes to capture a field, making a fully loaded M3 unable to capture a field.
