MIRACLE AT MIDWAY FRAME 3 SCORE
« on: November 28, 2008, 03:05:51 PM »
I didn't plan properly around the family time for the holiday, so that accounts for the delay.  Regardless, the Japanese delivered a solid victory in Frame 3, due primarily to a draw in the air, and dominance in the air-to-ground and anti-shipping portions of their attack.  USN was penalized for carrying 500lb bombs in a TBM for the 3rd frame in a row.

A2A:

USN 31.0
IJN  29.9

Obj:

USN 18.25
IJN 30.75

Sub Totals:

USN  49.25
IJN   60.65

USN Penalty 2.0%

Grand Totals:

USN 47.25
IJN  60.65

Thanks to everyone for a great three frames, given a challenging number of fighters for both sides.  Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving, if celebrating the holiday.  See you in March...

 :salute

Totals for all 3 frames:
Allied 50.1+ 57.6+ 47.25= 154.95
Axis 47.9+ 53.2+ 60.65= 161.75
Less than 7 points. W/O penalties it would have been closer. I'd still call it a draw.

I remember not so long ago that a strong showing by the IJN in the 3rd frame of an early war FSO was hard to find. The community has grown by more than just numbers. <S>ALL.

Very true, I know some who have changed their attitude from one of, "get me that great ride" to "Give me a mission to carryout."  The former would hesitate to show up for an event if their chances of landing were less than average, the latter do FSO because it is so great on a consistent basis.
