It's not always that simple.  Off the shelf units usually have a PSU that is designed for that system only.  As in, if you stick in a power hungry video card you're going to have problems.

Boy I hate to hurt anyone's feelings here but I'm just not sure about that machine. The cpu is okay but I don't think the on board sound and especially the on board video are all that good. But I suppose the weakest link could be the power supply. If the power supply is good you will be okay because you can upgrade everything else. Better learn all you can about Vista though.

May I ask how much you paid?
