problems with sound card
« on: December 07, 2008, 08:04:14 PM »
I installed a sound card in my computer the "sound blaster audigy se"  really great sound but my vox stop working.  when i try the sound recorded i get the following message "not enough memory to complete this operations, close one or more applications...".  task manager shows that I only using about 2% of cpu usage.  tried reinstalling sound drivers with no luck.  I have a gateway computer pentium 4 i believe with a plantronics headset and mike, i tried connecting headset to both original mike input and the sound card with no luck.  any help would be appreciated.

Did you disable the onboard audio in BIOS?   I'm assuming from your post you bought the Sound Card after buying the PC.

I have the same sound card. I used the headset plugged into it for 2 years. I left aceshigh for a year and when I tried to fly again I couldnt use vox. I couldnt access the sound recorder in control panel. Ended up just getting a usb headset and leaving soundcard alone. A little money eased alot of frustration.

Looks like it's a known bug with sound recorder if you have more than 2 gigs of memory.

Download this -----> http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows

You can do the same recording test, just select 'microphone' in the upper right corner.
