Oh man, I can't WAIT for this to come out. Limited theatrical release sometime I believe this year.

Ok....

You mean to tell me you would pay to go to a theater and watch that? I'm a sword nut and theres no way I would. I'd watch it on TV or buy it on DVD, but as a theatrical release?  :huh

I'm very fortunate to live next to one of the best medieval museums in the U.S.  The Higgins Armory in Worcester Massachusetts has a fantastic collection of all types of blades.  They even offer classes in medieval combat.  Sax, if you're ever in the area, it's a great place to spend a few hours.

German longsword. This one is an aluminum waster, I'm currently looking into having a steel practice sword made to the same dimensions (40" blade, 13" hilt, ~3lbs, 3" center of balance).

Base model of my waster. Mine has a 4" ricasso, a diamond-section blade, and a red leather-wrapped grip but otherwise the same.

This is an Irish-style sword

The hollow pommel is a defining characteristic of Irish swords.

Diablo that is a god-awful piece of Kit Rae wannabe garbage. Every time I see a sword like that it makes me want to puke.

Mines like this but with a round pommel and narrower fuller. This one has a bit more of a Viking look than mine, but its the closest pic I can find quickly.
