Reminds me of a Confederate Air Force airshow I went to as a kid, with my buddy and his dad. It was in Phoenix at Luke AFB, I think.I don't remember much about the flyovers and beautiful warbirds on display. What I remember is the frigging heat!!!!Standing out on the tarmac with no shade in sight, first aid stations and people on stretchers wearing oxygen masks. My buddy's dad had some beer in an ice chest in the car. All the ice had melted and every can popped from the heat.Later that night talking to my dad, my words were coming out tangled and slurred, I guess from mild heatstroke.I always wondered about the "genius" responsible for scheduling such an event in Phoenix!!!? during the month of august!!!?30 plus years later, I'd still like to beat the hell out of him.
Indeed. Been to AZ in Dec, Feb, May, and August. Even in Dec it's usually high 80s. August, dont even go there...120 some days.
I was in Phoenix a few years back. It was 116, but so dry, it felt almost cold compared to central Texas.
Great pics! watching the F-16 winging with those ww2 planes reminds me about a movie fantasy, where was a modern aircraft carrier loaded F-14s was teleported back in time to ww2 in Pacific.
