Vehicle Hangars are always placed to the West of the airfield.

What this means for Knights and Bishops on the current map is that the Rooks (who are to the West) always get a free shot at the vehicle hangar when they make a ground attack.

Furthermore when the Rook fields are attacked by ground forces, the attackers must either fight their way through the airfield defenses, or drive all the way around the field to attack the vehicle hangars.

What this means in battle is that Rook ground forces have an inherent advantage in how quickly and easily they can destroy enemy vehicle hangars, which means they seldom face a significant defense from enemy panzers.

Please move the vehicle hangars so that they are on the opposite side of the airfield, facing away from the most likely direction of attack.

I.e. Rook VH on W side of airfield (as is), Bish VH on NE side of airfield, Knight VH on SE side of airfield.

This would even things up a bit in the current terrain.

hmm... interesting arguement funked, but allow me to play devil's advocate.

We'll use A6 as an example

V33, V35, and A5 dump vehicles on the west side of A6.  A3 dumps vehicles on the east side.

So the rooks flood A6, and after 45min of intense fighting finally manage to get A6, but everything is flattened.  All hangers, fuel, ammo, etc, etc, etc.  The knights start sortieing massive armor forces out of A3 and A5, catching A6 in a cross fire.  Who's at the disadvantage now?  Should we put the VH on the north side?  Maybe the south side?

Anywho, a panzer can light up the VH and take it down from any side of the field.  And it dinnae take that much longer to drive around if you're approaching from the east

As long as each country has the same disadvantage in the same situation, I'll be happy.

Wow funked! You got that up before I could get my #!@#$&^#$!!!! cable modem back online.

CJ, it's all well and good concerning panzers, that have range from well beyond the AAA's fire radius, but think of the humble flakpanzer.  I took a 202 out for a sortie today, after a kill, I found myself in a 3-on-1 situation over A5 and in need to RTB, exactly to A6.  In the time it had taken me to sortie, a single flakpanzer had come on and flattened all the hangars, starting with the VH.
I've also had FPs at a5/6 VH with the AAA still up -- one managed to repeatedly kill (call me an idiot) 2 respawning panzers and destroy the VH.
The point of all this is not to restrict panzer operations: after all, they have a limited ROF and are extremely vulnerable to air attack.
But, considering the spawn points are designed for the maximum instability in the border regions, and a greater stabiility in the home territories, it would make sense to put the hangars universally away from the border areas, and hence from ostwind fire.
Think about it, if an Ostwind has a range of 2500 yards, putting it 1500 yards on the other side of ack will make a considerable difference in field defense. At the very least, it'll give the folks at the field a few extra minutes to get a tank up before the Ostwind closes all the hangars.
