Model decals
« on: December 07, 2008, 08:22:41 AM »
A small stack of model decals has recently come into my possession.
Most of them seem to be for trucks (18 wheel)
a few look to be racing stripes
And a few for military models

Of the ones I can identify are
MPC 3001-07 - Enola Gay
Monogram 5992-0300F-14A 5421   VF-83
Monogram 6837-0300- Albatross HU168
Monogram 8212-0300 - Amphibious Weasel

Anyone want em?
Or should I just chuck em?

Monogram 5992-0300F-14A 5421   VF-83

VA-83 and then VFA-83, were never in F-14A's.

The Rampagers never flew F-14s. A-4's, A-7A/E's and F/A-18s, that's it.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

May very well be. I dont know
Im just copying what it says on the actual decal LOL

On the decal sheet itself the decals say
Ships name
USS Constellation

NAVY
 VF-83

F-14A
5421

LOL dont shoot me. Im just the messenger
Came across em and figured I'd ask if anyone was interested.
They arent going on Ebay cause Im not really looking to make anything off of them.
the only reason I have them is cause I thought maybe someone here might want em.
If not I'll just chuck em

I found a picture of them on ebay, and sure enough they say VF-83.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Monogram-1%2F72-decals-for-F-14A-USS-Constellation_W0QQitemZ110316160532QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20081123?IMSfp=TL081123137007r1256

Must be an error.  :uhoh

The F-14s for Carrier Air Wing 7 aboard the USS Constellation at that time were VF-103 and VF-143 (I believe)

Well standard kit decals are fairly worthless in general, unless someone is really desperate for those specific ones.

Can't speak for the truck/racing decals without knowing if they're standard kit decals or aftermarket decals.

For example if the plane decals came from aftermarket , say, SuperScale, Aeromaster, Eagle Strike, etc., these are worth at least something.

Check to see if you have a local scale modeling chapter and drop by a mtg to ask.
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.
I'm not perfect, but I am closer to it than you are.
