Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the show never seen before.
That really showed the fears people were facing in 50's, and why not, in these days as well.

Cheers!

Im sure the new one will be hosed, but I'm gonna see it anyway.

The original is one of my all-time favorites.

Been waiting for a while for this.

I hope Canoe doesn't try to put too much into the part of Klaatu.

Just to show you how little we knew about space when this movie was made, right after Klaatu escapes from the military hospital you hear the radio reports and the announcer says "scientist agree that the man must come from Mars or Venus, as they are the only 2 planets capable of sustaining life as we know it".

Did he say he came 250,000 miles (distance to the moon), 250,000,000 miles (distance to Mars), not miles?  I don't remember.

RE: The SPOILER:  How is that going to be a threat to the rest of the galaxy that anyone else would care and come here?

250,000,000 that's million miles, the distance to Mars.

It's yet to be seen if they were only half wrong.

Yup thats 3, there was Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 which was a remake of Evil Dead (not a sequel) iirc. And Army of Darkness was #3.

If Evil Dead 2 was a remake of Evil Dead that would make Army of Darkness # 2 wouldn't it?

Yeah, I agree it's possible that there could be life on either of those planets, but in the movie they were talking about intelligent life by implying that he came from either Mars or Venus.
