THE LAST WINTER

As the Battle of the Bulge plays out
its brutal, frigid conclusion, the

The omission of the rocket and jet planes on one

to reflect the fact that these planes came into
more common use somewhat later in the winter (as
well as for purposes of playability and balance).

Since we have the American heavies I'm putting a B17 mission together. I'm still not decided about the escorts or interceptors. I would like an all Dpony escort run, but because we have both lightening and jug squads I'm thinking a mix of P51D, P38J/L, and P47D-40. On the other hand I would like to add the 190A8 into the interceptors, but I think its going to be 109K and 190D with a hand full of Ta152s.

One thing I do know is airstarts wont be a part of the mission.

Just a note, the P47D40 wouldn't make the escorts historical as the P47s used during the ETO at that time ( Majority ) consisted of the P47D25 as it was the backbone of the bubbletop Jugs in the ETO.

Just a heads up. If you're going for historical accuracy, the P47D25 is the best choice, and it's much better than the D40 at alt. <--- Retired Jug jock...  :D

I'd like to fly a p38 with your mission if you need additional allies or I'll take a 109k or ta152 if you need some more intercepting german iron.

Blitzen, according to http://gonzoville.com/ahcharts/index.php they are identical in performance except the D-40 climbs slightly better.
