I hear what you're saying Babalonion.

I loaded up the Ponies with ord but to be honest
with you, I never dreamed that we would make it
to target without having to dump it.  I was
anticipating significant Bishop opposition since
they had all the intel necessary to give us a drubbing.
I was so certain of this that I purposed the 332nd
Fighter Group to act as our left flank defense in
the event the Bishops attacked before we had
reached our rally point.

In the event that we were able to hold our
ordnance, the plan was to eliminate opposition from
nearby enemy bases by flattening their
hangars, thereby giving those players
that were involved in the battle at the
port a chance to defend and take the
nearby Bishop base.  This strategy is known
as interdiction, one of the stated objectives
of the mission as outlined on the announcement thread.

I had planned to maintain the fighting force, reform,
and conduct subsequent strikes but the VOX outtage
made that impossible.

That was the plan.  Needless to say, the Rooks
(greenies) never took advantage of our efforts
to capture bases.  Maybe in future missions they will
seize upon the opportunity that MoM missions
provide to grab some pixels.

I, give 96Delta credit for keeping this game really interesting for me. I really like participating when I can. Anyway, I hope the MoMs last forever.
This is a test

Delta <S>!  I wasn't on and am a Bishop most of the time.  I missed it.

I did however notice earlier that the bishops were up a Creek so to speak.  So having anyone in Bishland to fight 50 to 60 Ponies
and take time to grab to boot was a longshot at best.  Lots appeared to be defending earlier.  Thoughts probably were to defend what Bish had and to recoup some losses.

Keep up the good work!  Your missions change the mundane in the MAs'.  I applaud your efforts...keep on doing it.

Methinks this mission was just a victim of circumstances.

<S> 96Delta

Just having that many of one plane type packed that close together with the same general goal in mind was enough to make me enjoy myself immensely. Vox crapping out kinda screwed the pooch, but it was still an absolute blast.

The objective for me is teamwork and the bombers getting thru and having good drops. Then getting back. I didn't make this one due to family stuff but I know on the last one while the P-38 made a great escort fighter it just didn't have the legs to drop tanks and then fight thru and back. I expect this one was a little better then the last and the next one will be better then this one.

Grabbing little cartoon bases that exist only in cyberspace aint much objective-wise either. If everyone had fun then the objective was met. And who knows? Every little country changer and PM'er might have been busy doing something else for once. Anyway, I'm glad the Rooks had fun.

That last one was against the Nits wasnt it? With the P-38s?

We did take 38's for escort in MoM3. I have to take credit for the 38's not having enough fuel. We took off about 15 minutes too early. Even with that I was able to stay in the air until just about when the bombers were making their final approach to land. But I do hear you, I had to throttle back so much that I lost a few optunites to attack due to air speed. I hope you join the 38's for MoM5, and we should have the fuel issue corrected.

MoM4 was great. I too expected to see more bish, but oh well. I was knocked out by a 262 before we hit target anyways. I guess my check six didn't come through because of Vox issues???

I think a possible explanation for the lack of Bish resistance might in the purposelessness (sic) of opposing a pure P-51 fighter sweep if there is nothing really to be gained or lost.  On a smaller scale you will always get some people that just love to furball for furball's sake, but many eventually get bored if there is nothing really to protect strategically.  That's why, to the furballer's chagrin, HiTech put in the strategiy 'win/lose' objective to overall gameplay.  It gives an overall reason to fight and furball from time to time.  Most people get bored just furballing all the time with no real objective one way or the other.  A pure fighter sweep with the P-51's was probably like that to many Bish.  They knew there was no real purpose (or strategic threat) to it, so why bother if something else is already going on their involved in.  Those that resisted the sweep we're probably those already in that general area of the front.

What I'm getting at is, somehow you have to provide a more tangible (or exciting, or satisfying) reward or objective like destroying a huge bomber formation, which in turn negates the enemy's strategic objective and protects you bases or strats from being destroyed.  That gets people to up and respond.

Agree 100%, I was running all over defending what little we had (really seems to be the norm these days). Lagger and I tried to up against this but really didn't have enough Bish to make a difference. Was only able to get three while they were on egress.
