Using more of my video ram?
« on: December 16, 2008, 01:10:16 PM »
I just upgraded to a 260gtx and I'm using 40-65 megs of the 896 megs available.  The machine itself is a bit low at 1 gig of RAM so is there a way to use more video RAM instead of system memory?

You cannot go by what the video card claims is being used.

To answer your question, there is no way to control how system and video RAM are going to be used.

Eagler, only if you have a ton of stuff running in the background.

I have 1GB of RAM in my office system.  With 4 applications opened, there is still 800MB of RAM available.  Vista will suck up 1GB easy.
