And you could have a .WAV file that plays 'The Village People-YMCA' upon destruction of the village! Yeah baby!

How about doing away with the bars altogether, and implemented the attack warning and air raid siren that was brought up a long time ago?

That way you know there's an attack, but by the time you get the warning they are already there

Well, the sector bars are historical, sort of.

Radar can detect an inbound flight. And they can detect the general vicinity and altitude of it. So, IMHO, it should be there. Without it, the amount of "no opposition" captures would increase dramatically.

Maybe it should be less accurate. Then again, we do not get altitude information on inbound forces.

One thing we could do away with is the dots, *unless* there are other aircraft of the same sie nearby or the enemy is visible from our fields.

Only a few parts of the world in which WW2 was fought had significant radar coverage.

Like France, maybe?

Or BoB?

Not my fault you yanks destroyed our fine radar system.

Well remember that radar is set so that it scans at a lowest possible altitude without getting noise. In flat land that's 100-200ft and up and up and up.

It would be nice if the terrain near a base radar station determined the coverage. Bases surrounded by large hills and mountains would have the poorest radar, while bases in the flat land would have the best chance at getting a low level flight.

eh whatever

France and BoB are a pretty tiny part of the world.
