CH buttons...

Anyone know where i can get CH buttons? I need a new hat switch and CH doesn't sell them on their site because i guess they are not considered user replaceable. I know what im doing and i just need to get my hands on the part. Anyone know a good way?

As Homeboy has recommended before, buy a couple on e-bay if they turn up cheap enough.

I haven't seen any other ideas that are viable, but luckily I still have my old gameport sticks in the attic should I ever need buttons.

Which button/buttons do you need BigR? If it is just a couple I can send them to you...

I saved my old analog one for just this reason. Have only had to swap out one button so far.

I just spoke with Debbie McDowel my rep at CH, she said that they do not sell nor are the hat switches available to resellers (I tried) or end users.  But if the stick is USB and under 2 years old they will repair at no charge.  If your stick is USB and older then 2 years there will be a small charge.  You can contact CH at 1-760-598-7833 and ask for Gaming Support to make RMA arrangements.  Hope this helps

thanks for all the replys. I do have an old analog CH fighterstick that works perfectly. The problem is i have it hooked up to an old school Dos machine for old games like Wing commander and Tie Fighter =) Ill just see if i can find one on ebay. If not, ill send it to CH. Thanks.

I still use 15-year old Thrustmaster gameport hardware. I regularly troll ebay for $3 sticks and throttles just for the spare parts. Now I have a huge cache of parts that should last me until 2045. I hope.

If you like the old hardware, ebay and time are your friends.

I think you are better off purchasing a new USB stick. In the long run it may be cheaper after shipping, cost of repair, and still having to use something that is 7+ years old and may fail again. If you do repair the gameport/analog stick, keep in mind the newer pots run much better than the older ones they used in their gameport products and they'll put it one of the new ones if the bench goes poorly.

Again, I'd recommend buying a new one (Provantage is usually the cheapest).

Yah Del, I do have a USB set. The analog one is my old one that I use for old dos games. Its what im considering cannibalizing. But you are right, i would much rather have new parts to replace my intermittent buttons with. The pots are fine. I don't get any spiking. Right now its just my trigger button that is sticking, and one of the 4 way hats. If i had money to burn, I would just buy a new stick. I just wish CH would sell that stuff! Im pretty sure they used to back in the AW days! Bleh...its funny..Ebay is full of Pro Pedals, and Yokes, but no used throttles or fightersticks. I guess no one wants to get rid of them =). Anyway, for now im just going to switch out the buttons from my old stick to my new one. That will tide me over till i can find a better solution.
