Sounds like you are behind a router and the firewall in the router is configured to allow established connections to come back through, but it will not allow an external asynchronous connection through, or the router does not support NAT over UDP properly.

I am behind a router, the same one that I was using on my XP machine. I had no difficulties with vox while on my XP machine.

Test the theory.  By-pass the router.

How long has it been since the router has been power-cycled?

For some reason, I can't seem to by-pass the router. When I connect the modem directly to the ethernet port on the computer, I can't connect online. I tried resetting the ethernet adapter and doing the Windows recommended repairs, those were no help. Interesting to note that my XP machine had NO difficulties connecting to the 'net through this router or via the modem directly. I'm starting to wonder if it's to early to begin the initial stages of despising Winblows Vista?

I did power-cycle the router, that was no help.

Is the network connection set to use DHCP to get its parameters?

Really odd that it would fail when by-passing the router.  Although, it is Vista.

I have no idea what that is, or how to check for it.

I can't figure out why it would fail either.

Right click on the network ICON, select "Properties", then "TCP/IP", and make sure the options are set to auomatically get the IP address for the computer and the name servers.

Interesting to note that the mic works just fine with Skype and World of Warcraft. Going to attempt a reinstall of AH and see if that helps.

It has to do with how our voice server works.  You cnnot compare other voice services to this.  They do not use UDP, we do.

It's not the router, I finally found out how to get my computer to connect to the internet w/o the router. I had to manually reset the cable modem, just unplugging it didn't do the trick since it has a battery for backup power for the phone.

With the router by passed I still can't talk on vox except to myself. Oh, I also had the Trend Micro firewall shut down as well.

Skuzzy would a DXDiag be of assistance now? If so, how do I get that information again?
