Falcon 4.0 vs. Falcon 4.0 Allied Force
« on: January 28, 2009, 11:25:16 PM »
I own the original Falcon 4.0 and it's textbook, never really got into it because about the same time I got it I got into Aces High, so what does Allied force have different.  I just won Allied force on ebay, so I can install either one.

Allied Force is Falcon 4 with a lot of updates, patches, and mods to make it look and work better.

F4AF brought a lot more realism to Falcon with respect to the aircraft firstly but also the battlefields and more important to me the bugs are mostly gone from the whole game. Of course if you dont know details about these things in the real world you will never notice in either version but the bugs will still be in the original. Stability is a big deal.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Yes multiplayer AF is much more stable than the original. There is big talk about Open Falcon and Free Falcon getting better. I guess time will tell and the squadron I belong to will test them all.

I play Freefalcon http://freefalcon.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13903&page=7, works great for me, has pretty nice graphics. Version 5.0 is at the end of beta testing, soon to be released ... with naval operations, 91 2D cockpits ... fun stuff.

Hey frenchy is there any way to map a zoom control to an analog axis? Reason I ask is I like to use 3D cockpits, and zoom in and out a lot. Could never get it working with F4:AF.

You know what bro, I have no idea. You are using those virtual googles aren't you? I know FF/RV supports 6 dof TIR, that's how people zoom in 3D pits. The "L" zoom will work in 3D pit. If u just want an another general 3D pit view, maybe u can adjust ur FOV?
