My P40E cockpit files (for those interested)
« on: December 23, 2008, 12:42:15 PM »
I finally fixed the noseart mask on my 68FS P40E -- My version of PS doesn't tell me what the index is for a color, so it took a long time to figure out what it was.

Anyways, I figured I'd put my cockpit files up too. I put ungodly amounts of time and effort into it. HTC won't accept the cockpit files, though. Probably because instead of 3x 256-res files, they now have 3x 1024-res files plus instruments, and it jacks the memory usage off the charts or something (compared to newer 3D models).

I put it up only for references' sake, and for those curious (*cough*68FS pilots?*cough*) to see what it looked like.

Nothing you'll ever see in-game, but I learned a lot doing it.

Create a directory named p40e_1 and unzip the files. Should show up offline. Might need to edit the object.txt so it stands out from the already-accepted skin in-game with the same name.

Very nice, there's quite a few cockpits that could stand this type of treatment.  :aok

Nicely done K, now we just need a remodeled P-40E to slap it into. Or maybe a P-40N...  :noid

Love flying it, but it just looks so wrong. Especially when its sitting on the runway. Looks totally disproportionate to me. Wish we could at least have that updated cockpit to hold us over.   :aok
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.
