   I had a similar problem.  I went back through the text and found I had missed a few lines.  Once I changed them, I had no problems.
BTW, great mission USRanger.  Really liked how the mountains look.  :salute

Thx Coogan.  John, make sure you didn't miss any C: to D:'s and make sure you put the folder with all the .wavs in your missres folder.

I went back and checked - all "C's" are now "D's", and yes, the folder with the .wav files is in the missres folder under "hellsgate."
Strangely enough, the Japanese side of the game plays fine, the US side crashes.

I did find one flaw with the Japanese side - when I get behind a group of TBM's, my engine starts smoking and spraying oil all over the place, then eventually the engine stops and I have to either bail or crash land.  Any idea what would be causing that? :)

Lol nope, never heard of that.  I'll have to try it out.  As for the Japanese side crashing, I don't know what it could be, as we have the same version and the Japanese side is the one I play and I've never had a problem.  Weird.

Ranger, other than the aforementioned problem with the TBM gunners, the Japanese side plays fine for me as well.  It's the US side (in the Hellcats) that crashes a minute or so into the game.

USranger, Having played your mission it got me thinking. It looks nearly perfect for a Pearl Harbour mission. Ok, it hasn't got Battleship row, but it does have a nice harbour, with work places just inshore. Could be an idea for another mission? Just a quick one.

Pearl has always been a future plan, but I'm going to make my own map for it.  I played the one AH currently uses and I'm just not a fan of it.  The transitions weren't update when they changed the way we build the terrains and they don't match the terrain tiles.  So, look for it in the future.  My nexr project is a fictional Battle of Britain 1945.  You can read some about it here:

Yea read about that ranger, just not me scene. Sure it will be awsome as per norm. I was just wondering about Pearl, I've started using the D3a in offline mode to simulate it (Sad I know, but probarbly the best I can do) Be good to see it when it comes out  :aok

Pearl would have came before my current project, but CV starts are impossible and for the life of me I can't get air starts to work in offline missions.  I've tried many times, but I think it's like the .res file and some other things, it just doesn't work.

Good fun,

However...

When in a Ki 84, i was checking out the carrier, was certainly not close enough to hit it and all of a sudden lost my prop.

Also when taking off in a F4U, about 30 seconds after the Clear for Take-off call, i lose Aces High.

Great mission though, love the terrain.  :aok

I just flew both flights of F4Us.  Everything worked fine here.  Question, did you have to edit the .mis file for your pc, as in is AH not on your C: drive?  If so, it sounds like you missed the USAmusic.wav for the F4Us.  Just a guess.

Neg,

AH is on my C:drive, however no music played for me. I remember having this problem with winter breakout until i specified the MISSRES ( i think it was) into a seperate folder, i didnt see that file this time...

I think the music part is what killed me.

Also it was jsut the 2 flights of F4Us, it was the F4Us, F6Fs, TBMs, and SBD,s i think were all there, didnt get very far in the mission.  :lol
