Cable TV and a digital tuner

The cable office offers digital premium channels that we just subscribed to. Would a digital tuner built into the LCD tv's be able top receive these since we are paying for them now, or will you still have to have a cable box for them?

You'll need the cable company's cable box to use their interface to change channels etc.

If your LCD TV has a cable card slot, you can get one from your cable company. It will take place of a cable receiver.

And in either case, you will probably have to pay for either of them, may it be the cable box or the card.

You should be able to receive "basic" cable just fine.
Premium channels usually require a box. OR a card slot on your TV.

The one upside Comcast has over Verizon. At least in my area. is they have a much better basic lineup.

I dont know about the rest of the state.
But I know when Comcast took over cable here. The township really went to bat for the community. Insisting on X amount (I forget how many) channels plus a channel for the high school to broadcast on. Or they werent going to let em operate here. It was big news for a while

I know in Port St Luci where my mother live. the basic package sucks.
Here it is great by comparison . We have twice as many channels available as my mother does.

Could it be that in Port St Lucie there are actually things to do outside unlike New Jersey where if you step out on the street some crack head may decide to shoot you for not wearing the right types of shoes? Oh wait that happens here in Birmingham, AL as well and I just switched from Direct TV to AT&T U-Verse for television and from Charter to AT&T U-verse for my internet as well. Saved about $60 a month in doing that and will only loose one channel on U-verse...a kids channel called Sprout. Not a big deal but my youngest enjoys watching Sesame Street on it in the afternoons when she gets up from her nap.
