File error?
« on: January 01, 2009, 08:07:08 AM »
got a film file that failed to write correctly?

Discovered it when I was de-fragging drive.

Says I have about 7 mg that defrag wont touch?

Tried deleting the file and moving the file and tried accessing the file and says "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk."

Keep getting this "Cannot read from the source file or disk."

So what is the fix?

This is a Sata drive and using WinXP.
It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

I don't know the answer but I have to ask... is it a Western Digital drive?  I've had the same problems from time to time with WD drives but never with Seagates.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.
