SUMMARY
Our launch was good as it could get, some ogerd but mainly all of us took off.
We had launched 3 groups with 10 minutes between the bombers and fighters,
(all took off from diffrent bases, to avoid major lag) then form up and assemble
area to head to our targets. Some of our bombers took off early or discoed so
we had to let them catch up. And right off the bat we lost Airbase 31, our
assembly area. Not to good.
Once we got airborne and proceeded to targets Rook airfields, enemy dar were
located but was false due to Titanic Arena Glitches. Once at our designated alt
of 20k, we leveled out and headed for our targets, 109’s and Spits everywhere.
Both Fighter Groups engaged the enemy fighters clearing us a path, some
bombers didn’t make it.
Some midway intercepts consisted mostly of Me-262 fighters. Once located, we
move into the bomber escorts, the 21st FG and the 10th Fighter Wing who went
to work carving up the enemy force with great success.
While over our target we counted a group or more than 10 Enemy Me-262’s and
many fighters. And successfully shot down a majority of the. All along, the bombers
were pretty strung out and separated but we attempted to close up after the
second enemy field.
The main bomb group in the force was the 26th Bomb Wing under the command
of GREric. This group bore the brunt of the enemy's initial assaults and suffered
mid casualties, losing approximately 50% of its bombers. This Bomber Group
attacked the Airfields towns, The other bomb groups, the 41st Bomb Group faired
a bit better and tried to close as fast as they could to join the 21st Fighter Group
lead by Hajo group to offer defensiveassistance.
The two Fighter Wing in the force were the 21st Fighter Group lead by Hajo, and
the 15th Fighter Group lead by J0KER. Both of these Fighter Wings did a great job
protecting the bombers until the second targets. Many of our fighters were to
heavy, and had to drop there drop tanks to engage. Thus making them have to
RTB sooner.
We began our descent to 32 which was under heavy GV attack but our refueled
fighters were re-upping from there to join us and as a result, they busted up the
Rook attempt to take 32 with ease, securing the base for our safe recovery.
I had a great time although I was frustrated at the Rooks taking 31. Despite the
poor start, and the bombers not forming up together. The mission was a success
and we annihilated all 3 targets.
Thank you all! Let me thank everyone, both friend and foe alike, for battling it out
in this Mission of the Month event! I want to especially thank all the Bishop pilots
who
participated and helped us out. It was great and I plan on making better MoM’s for
the Bishop. It was our first one and it went well. We have learned still more lessons
from this battle and I believe that next time, we will do even better!
Thanks again for participating!
