It would be nice if the ability to program which fuel tanks are used in order.  For example to program the P51 to use the AUX first before any others (including externals)

Iknow we can do it manually but it can be awful easy to be engaged and forget to switch...

Yup, would be nice, can take your mind off fuel tank switching for a while.

Yep would be very nice, I tend to forget switching back to auto selection once the manualy selected fuel tank is almost empty. And that can be very painfull in a fight.

nah, is there really that many planes that you fancy different fuel usage order?

I've heard about 190, any others?

We whine about realism all the time, and now you want programmable automatic fuel switching configurations?

Name one plane in WWII that had that.

Midnight?  did they have an "ALL" selection for fuel usage?
We already have an Auto mode, why not permit us to program how we would like auto to operate?

Actually I think the P-38 had a form of auto fuel select.

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

Because if you desire that level of sofistication , you should be doing it manual.

2. The auto system is purly based on maitaining a stable CG.

Skurj i second that comment about the P51, i also can tell that the cg in the FW190 is much better when aft tank is empty.

The current usage in the P-51 is fine. What's that question supposed to mean?

If you have EXTERNAL tanks on, the default is to use them first, as it should be. After yuo drop them, it goes to AUX and then finally the 2 wing tanks after AUX is gone.

If you want auto selection of AUX first, all the time, you are asking for the wrong thing.

Maybe some WWII stories say how they used AUX first, but I think if they were on very long range escorts, hat would not be true. I for one wouldn't want to be out of gas becuase I burned my AUX on the way in and then had to drop my external fuel so I could get into combat.

Besides, if you want to burn AUX first, just use a stop watch. When flying at Military power, you get 3.5 minutes of AUX (when 75% internal fuel selected) or 16 minutes if you had 100% fuel. when the stop watch beeps, it's time to switch tanks.

The planes select tanks just as they should.

I forgot to add in my orignal post drop tanks override the cg method, and are always selected first.
