A movie a really enjoyed as of late was Bubble Boy. It's goofy, it's funny, and it makes you feel good.

You want a funny movie, rent "Grandmas Boy" it is hilarious.
Yeah I saw that a few months ago when it was on FX I believe, it was definitely funny, but not as funny as Superbad.

I enjoyed the film and thought they made some good choices to run their acting. Then again I'm young and enjoy all that eye-candy. :D

Hopefully the next one will be good, it's supposed to come out in 2011, "Superman - Man Of Steal"...
Wow! I thought superman was a hero, not a thief. ;)

I finally watched Dark Knight a few days ago.

Average movie.

A strong endorsement of the war on terror but not executed very well. Plot was pretty weak, the Joker was a Joke. I think the Heath Ledger killed himself from embarrassment. Silly Batman voice annoyed me. The only other comic book movie I've seen recently was The Spirit, which was much better. (although it wasn't Good or Great just Above Average)

Road to Perdition is the way a dark movie from an illustrated novel should be done.

Wow, you thought Heath was bad as the joker?  I thought he did a great job, acted very well.

Over acting is easy.

I was expecting an amazing performance worthy of suicide. Instead I get Jim Carey on a bad downer.

I expected much of the overhype to be because of his death but not every bit of it. He was worlds better in that other knight movie. The silly one with Chaucer. Funny.

For some stupid reason this morning I realized what was missing from that movie. Fun! There was no tension relieving humor. No funny spots. It was pure dreary and almost a sense of hopelessness. All the other Batman movies and including batman begins had a substance of fun. This one didn't.

Eagle Eyes:

You only needed to see Superman I and II. Superman Returns throws out Superman III and IV (which may be the BEST part of it).

The part I thought was funny was the Kryptonian roofie (the kiss) Clark gave Lois at the end of Superman II to make her forget. In the years that follow, and in Superman Returns did Lois ever wonder who the father of her child might actually be?

My understanding is that Dark Knight took Batman back the closest to the early days of the comic of any other film, which WAS dark (IIRC, Batman early on actually used firearms, it wasn't until later that he settled for "just" beating and scaring the crap out of his opponents). And I wouldn't say that this movie was missing humor entirely. The humor was really dark, but it was still there (the Pencil Trick is a perfect example).
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I found the part where Joker says to Batman, "you complete me", was hysterical.

I found it to be a GREAT movie, with excellent acting and a good plot.
The movie also had a great soundtrack, along with good cinematography.

What a waste of time that was.

A loose bundle of plot that always made me feel like I was left out and expected to know something. Clint Eastwood voice for Batman was too hard to understand. The Joker got old quick and it just plain sucked in my opinion. Best part was when Joker wandered out of the hospital when it blew up in the nurse's dress.

I guess my age is showing. To me all these hyped movies end up disappointing me. I cant remember hardly any movies Ive seen over the past 3 years. Finding a good memorable movie is tough. Usually a good gauge for me is if I dont know any of the actors I enjoy it.
Noted.

So Ebert, what's some of your favorite movies then?

If they keep disappointing you, why do you keep coming back for more?  Do you enjoy depression?

Dark Knight was awesom-o, and Ledger's version of the Joker was spot on
