I beg to differ. These people are allowed their opinions. Even without facts or the knowledge that these people make their opinions. Im am here so these people can retain their rights to a opinion. These people do piss me off, but they do not effect my life or my families so I really dont care what they say.

I never said they shouldn't be allowed to, I just said I think they're slime.

I have to agree. Theres a difference between disagreeing and hating. I disagree with what our soldiers are asked to do over there. I disagree with us being over there at all. But I think our soldiers are some of the best people on the planet for voluntarily going into what Im sure must be hell.

Was not my pick.

Ohh okay, still nice to know that they're not in the top 10. I'd prefer rap over MCR...

When I was stationed in San Diego I saw MCR as a warm up to Linkin Park. It was the first time Ive seen a drunken crowd sit down and count the minutes until they left the stage.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion whether we like it or not.  " danger zone " was one of my deployment favorites when I was in the navy.  :salute

I sorta figured. If you took any ill will from my statement I apologize. I didnt mean any. You were sort of the outlet for this. This has been building for months now. We take a lot of grief for what we do here. Believe it or not we receive a small amount of hate mail from people back state side. They know the Navy is either here with a squadron or something related to detainee ops. It was my chance to explain. I also meant no harm to police officers or correction facilities back state side. I have never worked in one or worked with a police officer. I respect what you all do now even more so. Quite a few sailors I work with are reservists and work as police or in a prison. I only base my perspective of detainee rights on how those sailors compare their normal jobs to this place.

I am in Afghanistan. Been here since Sept 08. We get out of here around June. I should have explained that. I apologize.

And IMHO you have a VERY TUFF job!   I did NOT connect where you were with what you said, and I apologize if what I said in any way offended.  The people you must deal with over there tend to be fanatical and filled with hatred for the west.  Sadly far too many of them will do ANYTHING including blowing themselves up to harm the west.

I say here and now THANK YOU and those with you for your efforts, sacrifice, and hard difficult work!  :salute
It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

Just be safe BlueJ1 and thanks for sharing those with us. Not a cool situation you are in but you are doing something that needs to be done for the rest of the people around the region and the world.
