If you don't want to interact with anyone, or communicate, go offline.
I wish to interact when playing...but through bullets, not through words.  

I wish to be able to close the text buffer for aesthetic reasons, as for range, it just gets loud and annoying sometimes. 
I can still give and recieve check6s without listening to a ten-year-old discuss at length what our "strategy" should be or a grown man describing in exquisite detail what "rutabagas" the opposition are being.
