The planes have air brakes.
That does not help at all when the target is also going 650mph.

My vote....like it matters.... is no way!. WWI I can live with because it still in close fighting and the ranges are close enough that you can "see" the targets. We start moving more towards jets and thats all your going to see flying. Then the "I want missiles" start coming in, then the next thing you know your playing "Lock-on". Screw that!

A plane traveling 600 will turn sharper than a plane going 650.
Btw, in AW3 I don't recall them going THAT fast, but maybe at compressed dive speed.
Korea is fun as heck.

In AW3, Korea always had like 15-30 people in it.  It never competed with WW2 but it was a very fun addition to the arena list.  The WW2 arenas were always absolutely packed so I don't think the 'zomg i want to fly jets' crowd would really have a large enough following to impact the WW2 arenas.

The problem with Korea in AW was that the G's weren't modeled correctly. Also, there were only two jets so the selection was limited. It was always one jet or the other.

But if the Cougar and Panther were brought in; and the Skyraider; and the Gloster Meteor; and the Twin Mustang; and the Sea Fury; and the P-80/F-80 Shooting Star; and the B-29 ... now you're talking a pretty sizable plane selection that makes things interesting.

And on the ground war side you'd have the Type 58 vs. the M24 Chaffee, M4 Sherman, Centurion, Pershing, and Patton tanks.

I'd rather see Korea than WW1.

How about 550mph?  Nothing in Korea went 650 that wasn't a lawn dart.

I always liked killing jets with props in AW Korea.  Gimme a SPAD, WW I or Korea.

Not true.

"Although the Sabre was strictly a subsonic aircraft, low-supersonic speeds could be achieved in a shallow dive. Flight through Mach 1.0 first took place on April 26, 1948.

The Sabre was delivered to the Air Force in 1948. The first production model flew on May 20, 1948, and on September 15, 1948, an F-86A set a new world speed record of 670.9 mph. Originally designated as the F-86A, the Sabre would undergo a number of changes resulting in a variety of model designations."

Me 262 looses it's control authority due to compression a bit above 650mph TAS in AH IIRC.

Are we talking cruise speed here or dive speed? I'm interested in level cruise speed

Reread, I guess that's a shallow dive speed. What about just level cruise?

World speed records aren't flown in a dive.
