help for some old diggers
« on: February 03, 2009, 10:46:54 PM »
The RAF church St Clements Danes has its floor adorned with tiles containing the badges of all allied squadrons that served there. However there are eleven empty spaces for the five fighter and six bomber squadrons that seved during the war. This is going to be done in a ceremony on March 26th and the surviving fighter pilots and bomber aircrew have all been invited. But due to the fact that they are all old age pensioners they can't really aford to go. Will the RAAF help, Will the Australian government help or will QANTAS the Australian airline help. A big no on all three counts.

No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

I used to go to Kings College directly opposite that church; a beautiful little place slap bang in the middle of the road with traffic passing it in both sides.
Such a shame that many veterans will never get to see it, once again proof of the general lack of respect and thanks due to them.
