Honeymoon Ideas
« on: January 29, 2009, 02:28:10 PM »
I am getting married in Oct, and since she is a teacher we are planning our honeymoon in december.  Probably Dec 26 to Jan 2nd.  We are looking for all inclusive resorts.

We are thinking some place in the Carribien because of the short time frame of our honeymoon.  We will take another vacation at the end of her school year probably something longer.

We are thinking for our honeymoon either;
St. Lucia
Aruba
St. Martin
Riveria Maya

I was looking for suggestions on where to go in the Carribien, and if you have gone to any of the places I listed what you guys thought.

I did some looking on the internet and see that Sandals All Inclusive sucks. So I would like to stay way from Sandals Resorts.

Any help we be apperciated

Sorry about my typing I had hand surgery and it is kinda hard to type with a brace on my hand

I really enjoy spending time in the Turks and Caicos.  If you're into diving there are a lot of outfits that can set you up but I'd recommend Dive Provo (www.diveprovo.com) as they were recommended to me.  They lived up to the promise and I use them each time I'm there.

There is also snorkeling, bonefishing, great beaches and some good restaurants.  We stay at the Royal West Indies resort (http://www.royalwestindies.com/) and the Ocean View rooms will do you well.

I go for the diving.

Congratulations!  :aok

I know this isnt much in the way of an all inclusive resort, or in a tropical zone but Yosemite is extemely beautiful and amazing during the winter, you can stay in the Ahwanee hotel which has been rated int he top 100 hotels in the world, and there is lots to be able to do in and around yosemite. yosemite is a must og place at some point in your life and deffiatly a romantic spot during the winter.

just a thought outside of the box  :aok

oh and btw, congrats on getting engaged

We went to Gettysburg for our honeymoon.
Mid june its not overcrowded and quite a nice town.
Least it was 25 years ago.

For our 20th wedding anniversary we went to one of the Ceasers Pocono resorts.

Logic is simple.
Most marriages start off at a resort and within 20 years, end up on a battle feild.
We started ours on a battle feild and 20 years later we went to a resort.

Play it smart. Honeymoons are a waste of money. Nothing really to celebrate other then for the fact that you are now legally bound to one another by a piece of paper. In the beginning no matter how many girlfriends you've had you dont know squat about being married

Now live with that same person day in and day out for 20 years without killing them.
THAT is cause for celebration.

BTW, Yanno the best way to get a woman to stop having sex?

Marry her!

Jebus,

I'm a travel agent and I could suggest a few places, however given how things are in today's economy I'd really suggest you take a cruise rather than a land vacation.

The cruise will be significantly cheaper, it will visit most if not all of those places and its got all the fun and entertainment on-board in 5 star style.

A typical 5 night stay in a 4 or 5 star all inclusive resort in mexico can run about $4k  and thats without international airfare or transportation (land) costs. You could get it for a lot less but the 3 star all-inclusives are like staying in a motel 6 that has the Atlantis resort next to it (and you cant get in!).

Look up a 7 night or 8 night caribbean cruise out of Miami... in a balcony cabin (do NOT book anything but a balcony for honeymoon or you'll regret it.. she wont let you forget it lol ) ... depending on the time of the trip it could barely run you $2.5k

Wedding cake has something in it that kills a womans sex drive.  Advise is to just live together and be happy.  My second wife thought the marriage papers ment she owned me.

We did the Breezes Montego Bay in Jamaica.  We loved it.  All inclusive.  Just be careful if you go off the resort.  It can get a little scary.
We lucked out and had my wife's 3 brothers pay for it for our wedding gift and we upgraded airfare but it ran about $4k with first class airfare from Detroit.
