Do you use a USB headset?

Do you use a USB headset?

No.  Normal analog headset.

Although all power-heavy USB peripherals are hooked up to a powered hub if that was to be your next question.

When the game is preloading, you should see the file names go by under the "tip of the day" message. They should have xxxx_1024.TCA if your loading the hires files. Maybe deleting the cashe folder will rebuild with the hires.

Are you on Vista? Your computer is about the same as mine, though I have more RAM and mine runs the hires no trouble.... I did turn the AA down tho.

how's your power supply?
maybe the video card is now pushing the 12v amp draw beyond its means.
Also, have you tried a complete new install of AH? Maybe somethings corrupt..

Have not tried a complete re-install.

HOWEVER!  After making some changes, I have an entirely new problem.  My sound stutters/hangs for 3-4 seconds at a time.

Maybe I should just reinstall the OS, start from scratch and be done with it.

Thanks guys.  :)

I would not go through the trouble of reinstalling your OS. Like the fellas said above, check your power supply. If I were you, go into your bios and/or video card settings and find out if your drivers are compatible and are up to date. If all is good, then double check your resolutions on your monitor. If thats good, then perhaps your video card is overheating, or some other peice of hardware is overheating.

If you tried just about everything, and nothing changes, I have an advice for you: Dont use the Hi Res texture pack! It would save you a lot of time and headaches.

I 2nd that!.....Mazz

do a re-install of Aces high II ( BACK UP YOUR SIGHTS & SETTINGS FOLDERS 1st !!!)

or at least completely dump/delete everything in the cache folder under HTC/AcesHighII/  and reinstall the high res pack.then let the cache rebuild upon start up like fugitive suggested......

and yes, checking for updated video drivers or a better driver might work as well....

your video driver is dated :  1/9/2008   and your audio driver is dated: 2/26/08

check to see if there is newer drivers available perhaps.......

"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC
