How about the possibility of damage to the radio?  Take hits in the radio compartment, and you wouldn't be able to transmit or receive with the "readio"... AND, since you wouldn't be able to receive ground controller info, you'd also lose the clipboard map/radar.  Better have a paper map handy.

Also, I think this damage would be infrequent enough that it wouldn't be too hindering for new, or casual, players.

Make it the same for no plane. If you bail you are muted. That eliminates the "forward spotter" that bails and continues to brief his countrymen on the text buffer. Of course that doesn't stop RW or any other vox communication so maybe we need to implement instant capture / death when you bail and land in enemy territory.

Another fantastic idea Maverick. Disable the "T" button to help mute RW users. Dedicated cheaters will get around that anyway but a lack of text or AH "T" keyed RW would cut down on "reports" quite a bit I'd imagine.

Shouldn't we have damaged gauges before damaged radios?

I don't like this idea...kind of kicks the social aspect of the game right in the tail.  If it was implimented, you can bet that I'd be one of the dirty bastards cheating with RW too

SOB, I don't think it would diminish the social aspect of the game too much.  You might get a radio hit 1 in 100 sorties.  The idea would be to introduce more variety into the game.  Most of the time the problem is to shoot stuff...once in a while, the problem would be to find your way home without the GPS or radio.
