Windows was reinstalled due to the fact that it was an old comp of mine with years of extras and I have handed down to my little girl. The Card I tried to install was nivida GeForce 5600LE. I say tried because it wouldn't work for some reason. It is not due to a faulty card as I have installed it to my sons and it works fine.
Yes I did mean onboard graphics
I have been looking and will be getting another Graphics card as this is just crazy....it's as if I'm looking for something that never existed, sure it may be classed as a fossil now (6 year old system) but even 2 million year old animals have more information about them than this system.
In any case cheers, Nick for your time. I will get another graphics card (ati) and install that. I have the driver required for these as I have one installed on my system.
The reason it didn't work on the old PC is that possibly the 5600LE is an 8X card and you may only have a 4X AGP slot. I'm not sure if 4X and 8X are backwards compatible as I have not had
an AGP system in quite a while.. Perhaps someone can affirm or correct this since I'm too lazy to look it up...

So, you're saying you cannot find the driver for the onboard graphics, right?
Is it a system that was built for you or is it a factory built system such as Dell or Comaq?
Being a system that old, there's only a handful of on board GPU's it could be....
And there should to a something on the motherboard itself that identifies it..
That, or when your system posts, it may give you the model number..
Have you opened it up to see what board it is yet?
I bet you we can find out what it is...
