the variance dosen't just show your internet connection. If your cpu is doing something else you'll see the spike in the variance window. What are you doing in the game when it slows down? is it the same thing, or can you just sit in the tower long enough for it to happen?

i can sit in the tower, or be working on setting up my controls.....or flying.....it doesn't matter....it does this on a regular basis.....about every 20 to 30 seconds or so.

If it was an Intel CPU I would say it was throttling back due to heat.

this is an amd 6000+ though....and a brand new machine. that's what's bugging me.....in the other amd thread, i did post a dxdaig.............it's frustrating to say the least though. i know it's not my internet connection, and highly doubt it's the game.....i just don't know where to go looking in the puter.

Have you looked at the CPU temperatures?  How about the video card temps?

clean up your processes, start task manager and terminate all user initiated processes. i suggest you use, CCLEANER and REVO UNINSTALL to clean up the system first. it's probably conflicting programs that hog your resources thats keeping AHII from running normally. in CCLEANER i use tools>startup to disable ALL startup programs. then test AHII.

Ok folks...

...for me, some good news.

I think the combination of moving the sound off the mainboard and into a FX-i PCI sound card COMBINED
with disabling SLI while in Aces High has done the trick. I was able to fly for an all-time record time of over
40 mins with no lock ups.

Funny thing, this software does not feel on bit faster in SLI mode as compared to a single card.
My 9800GTX+ OC's run great in AH on just the primary card. If this continues I'm WAY stoked.

Thanks Skuzzy for the onboard sound tip...
