Well, in my opinion, if U as a squad did a good job, others would have come here to post that and give U the recognition.  But when U post about how good u did tends to show u trying to get recognition for what U have done when in all actuality, it wasn't all that great because many have done it before u, or it has been the norm for that type of action.  Trust me, if u or your squad did good, Someone will post it, U shouldn't.  That is my belief and one of the reasons why U never see a AK come on here saying how good we did till after someone alrdy recognizes it.  We not out for pats on the back.  We are here to do our best and have fun.

BTW, it easy to get that many objects destroyed on a TG.  Each ship destroyer alone has like 20 objects, cruiser has about 40+ along with carrier.

correct me if i am wrong but isnt buffs worth more points dying in mass numbers like that then the targets They destroyed? If so the whole point is kinda beating a dead horse as for as the patting oneself's back.
As far as what saxman was saying if done on purpose smells kinda gamey.

BTW AKDogg you did a heck of a job in the FSO as well. You tied shifty with 5 kills, but you got shot down. So for now shifty is still our hero. Better luck next time.

Ty, but my definition of a hero is not someone who lands/survives but one who saves his squady's which sometimes ends up sacrificing his own life to save his squady's.  Dying is the norm of me but never empty handed or very rarely empty handed.  Alot of times I will clr squady's 6 by either shooting the enemy down or drag them away so my squady's can escape and get home.  1 death is better then many deaths is how I look at it.  So if I save 3 lives for my death, I happy.  <S> :aok

BTW, I don't consider myself a hero as I feel it my duty as the CO for the FSO squad to get my guys home safely, even if requires me to kill myself.

We've dropped tons of troops on Vbases to try to overwhelm the flaks in the MA, but havent tried the air base to bait the ack. We call it "Meat Chaff".

This thread needs to end, quickly.  Yeah, I kind of agree that posting to toot your own horn is silly, but big deal: all this arguing is making FSO look like the main arena.

all this arguing is making FSO look like the main arena.

Funny... I thought the main arena tactics being used in an FSO event were actually causing that, not the arguing.

Bailing and shooting folks on the runway with a .45 was dealt with, "meat chaff" :lol can be dealt with too if the powers that be see fit to rule on it.

As I said, allow people to man guns on task groups. It'll put a stop to the MA mentality REAL quick when dive-bombing BUFFs get blasted out of the air by thw=e 5" guns and 40mm BOFORS, and the TGs have AAA that can't be distracted by the "meat chaff."
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

With the number of pilots in FSO now, it might not be a bad idea.

But FSO has never allowed enabling of Field and Ship Guns. The main reasoning behind that was the instant kill guns can ruin your night real quick. No one wants 1-ping deaths which is another reason why ack is turned down for FSO.

But like I mentioned above, it might be something that could change with the number of aircraft and pilots we have now.

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

It was over in Guadalcanal .. we had two fleets per side set in one sector and had them duke it out to simulate the naval battles that happened on Iron Bottom sound. Worked out nicely after a few kinks but it was ship to ship. Not ship to air.

As Nefarious says it might be time to revisit the issue with this many pilots. I never really had a problem with the 40mm and 20mm guns .. yes they are one hit kills when at normal lethality .. but also you have to get down close to them for them to be effective. The 5" guns are a different story.

Sure, let them make a rule that says a pilot may not ride his chute down over a CV or over a field to draw the AAA.  But for now, there is no such rule.
