Last night I killed a first-dayer a couple of times.  There were 3 or 4 of us (a couple on each side - some new, some vets) having fun [clean] fights for a little while in EW.  A couple left, and this one new guy switched sides to my side and politely asked if he could join my plane.  I obliged and talked him through how to tune his vox to my channel so we could talk as he rode along.

We flew for a little while and he decided to tower out and up his own plane for more practice.  We winged up and found an enemy to play with.  I stayed high and talked him through some basics and after a three minute fight he had gotten his first kill.  Man was he jazzed.  Nice guy and should make a fine addition to the pilot base.

There was a player a couple weeks ago that whenever someone would get on his six, would just stick stir.  I PM'd him and told him he'd be better off trying a maneuver rather than stick stirring.  Also told him that stick stirring is only a relevant action when you have an ally on the bogey on your tail and you are trying to buy him time to kill the guy.  Anyways, I ran into the player yesterday and he told me on range that he stopped doing that and it has actually helped him a lot and has learned more effective ways in dealing with the situation.

I out ran a boy scout so I could help the little old lady across the street.

Of all the things that folks complain about that are supposedly ruining gameplay, being respectful was obviously a casualty a long time ago.

That is very true for many...

Good stuff AK. I remembers a few years back PM'n Murdr and asking politely if I could join for a ride in his 38, he was gentlemanly enough to say yes. Just a few minutes with some of the better guys out there can help a new stick considerably.

Keep up the good work. The return is better players for us all.

This is good to hear , the AK's are good people and this is a fine example of decency to new players . I should try and be a little better to the new guys myself .

After two HO passes any plane/pilot deserves to be shot in the face. Please forgive my uncharacteristic bad shooting I never fly the typhoon.  :D
