Default F4U1D top left; Heavy Oil Hit edited F4U1D top right;

Default F4F bottom left; F4F (from above) Oil Spray edited F4F bottom right;

With my luck, bullet holes in my windshield is a constant

Sounds reasonable but i still see the oil as being transparent. The splash of oil on the windshield of the plane would be thick and black; not to mention EVERYWHERE.
