Was the pilot stupid?

Here's the back story. Went up this morning in a A8 messing around and what not, noticed a P51 buzzing around trying to egress. So i fall for the bait thinking it was going to be a good fight which infact it was. Long story short after the fight was over, i spoke on country about how good it was to find a good 1v1 early this morning and i receive some banter from a fellow countrymen ( will remain nameless ) that the P51 pilot was stupid that he lost to a A8.

I told him that the P51 pilot was good, he wasn't a novice and i didn't really get a gun solution on him until i stopped playing mouse and started playing cat which i lured him into the vertical. Anyway he continues to go on blah blah about how a A8 should never get guns on a P51 in a 1v1 and i tell him that it's not only the plane, but the pilots experience and understanding of his airframes strengths and the enemies strengths and weakness. Well after we debate back and fourth i finally let him have it seeing as he was determined on saying the P51 will pwn a A8 any day of the week.

Savor the good 1 v 1 fight and nevermind the tards.  The prior is rare, the latter, abundant.

I'd say he wasn't aggressive enough. I noticed a couple chances early on in the film where he could of had you if he pushed the point instead of pulling off.
Lighten up Francis

That's what i was saying the entire film but at the same time he sure as hell didn't allow me to get any easy angels or gun solutions and that says alot for the pilot being able to stay out of the enemies gun view and still maintain the high ground.
