Sundog, don't be silly.  A single A-26B carries the firepower of two puny Mosquitos.    

I agree about the Typhoon.  The throttle is more effective for steering than the stick!

Well if we're talking forward firing guns rather than bomb load, the Mossie has 4 20mm and 4 .303s. If 1x 20mm = 3x .5, and 2x .303s = 1x .5, then forward firepower of Mossie = 14x .5      
Of course, if you're going to add in ammo load and bomb load I'd better shut up.

As to the Tempest II, it depends how you classify it. The first production model was completed in Oct 44, and nearly 200 had been made by the end of the war. If that had been a Luftwaffe plane it would have been in service by Jan45.

The Spit XIV is painted all silver in 2 sqn markings. Does anyone know if this colour scheme was used during the war or only post war?
