Great write up Del,

I used to fly with most of the gentlemen in Loose Deuce in our previous squad, and I can say they are a great bunch of pilots and a great bunch of gentlemen. If you have a chance to fly with them, you wont be sorry.

I think your squad writeups should be stickied. They'd help people out who are in the squad search market

Once again, since my time online has been so limited lately (and I'm on call this weekend which equates to little AH time) I've asked the Chawks if they wouldn't mind if I stayed for an extra week, maybe two.

They accepted, those poor devils.

I'm currently working on the CHawk's review and it should be ready within a day or two.

Did 4X run you over with a Tiger like he did Shuff and I way back when?  I still bear those scars to this day! :)

Ya know, I was actually thinking about that the other day!! :rofl :rofl :rofl
It was and still is one of MY funniest moments in AH, and chuckle to myself every time I think back on it.

I've finally finished the write up on the Chawks, I'm waiting for a little more information from them before I post it.

I'm haven't rolled any dice to see what squad would be next on the visitation, but I will likely roll this coming week.

Are you part of a squadron but you feel like you’re missing something? Have you ever logged on just to shoot the breeze with squadron mates? If so, the Chawks are for you! The Chawks aren’t a squad, they are a fraternity! They have a loose command structure that stresses camaraderie between squad mates before organization, but more often than not someone comes to the forefront to lead the Chawks on an event.

When I originally joined the Chawks I thought I knew this squadron from some of what I’ve seen them do, but my preconceived notions were proven false within just a few hours. The Chawks tend to do whatever strikes their fancy, from base taking to fighter sweeps and scenarios. I’ve seen first hand they tend to succeed whatever they are performing night, even when they took dead weight like an old P38 driver like myself along.

My first night with the Chawks began with the majority of them taking bases with a method and a speed I haven’t seen online before. They took 3 formations of B26s, a C47, and a couple fighters beneath radar and headed towards a base close to the action. With incredible timing they used the B26s to flatten the town in one pass, used the fighters to cover, and the C47 landed in the town less than 30 seconds later. Here is a picture of the event…

(I can’t give away all the Chawk’s secrets)

I felt awfully green during this time, my eggs didn’t even hit the ground, and I guess I was too low when I dropped them so they didn’t arm. I even called out that a certain hanger was down, only to be gently corrected by the more experienced members of the squad.

This is not the extent of the squadron’s abilities, as later we were fighting on the deck defending the base. Those same guys that were adept at taking bases were shoulder to shoulder on the deck fighting higher cons, and often successfully. The person who gave me an invite to the squadron, 4XTCH, was leading the way and dealing more damage than he was receiving.

(JazzCH clears Lippy over the airbase)

Later, the Chawks defended a carrier group from numerous attackers.

(Lippy attacks a P47)

This squadron does even more within the scenario and FSO environment, I had the unique pleasure of flying with them during an FSO event and I shall always have fond memories of that time with them.

(The Chawks get formed up to defend the ‘Fatherland’)

(An Allied P51 lines up on QCareCH)

(QCareCH starts to work the bandit with a rolling scissor)

(QCareCH moves the bandit out in front)

The Chawk squadron also gives back to the community as two of the members are also CM (Campaign Managers) and have also been active with scenarios, taking command of squadrons.

The Chawks were very gracious to me during my time with them, both understanding my time was limited and I feel that I made lasting friendships that will outlive whatever ‘Roadshow’ idea I may be working on. The Chawks are a great bunch of guys and I am proud to say I enjoyed my time flying with them.

To join the Chawks, simply contact one of their members, most of them have invite privileges.
